Rhododendrons flourish in cool, damp climates. So coastal Mendocino County is a great place to grow them. Local green thumbs will bring their best rhodo blossoms to the 44th Annual John Druecker Memorial Rhododendron Show at the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens in Fort Bragg. Featuring more than 800 entries, the show will be held May 6–7, 10 a.m.–4 p.m., and is free to attend. Besides the show, the Gardens will also host Rhododendron Walks, which will highlight its more than 124 species of rhododendrons and 315 taxa in peak bloom.
