Apples grow in abundance in the North Bay. And many varieties will be available for sampling at the Mendocino County Fair and Apple Show. In addition to fruit, the fair boasts a variety of events and activities, including wine and hard cider tastings, a CCPRA rodeo, classic car show, sheep dog trials, country music, and, of course, a carnival. The fair runs September 22–24, 9 a.m.–midnight, at the Mendocino County Fairgrounds in Boonville. Admission is $6–$10; ages 6 and younger get in free. An unlimited ride wristband is $35–$45.
