As part of National Child Abuse Prevention Month, Lake County Office of Education presents a Children’s Advocacy Walk and Festival April 13 and 27. Following the theme “Release Your Inner Dragon,” there will be booths providing free goodies, resources, education, prizes and surprises. In the past year, Lake County Child Welfare Services received about 1,500 reports of abuse or neglect. Currently, LCCWS reports that 72 children/youth in Lake County are placed outside their parents’ homes due to abuse or neglect.
