211 Now Available in Mendocino County
Everyone knows that 911 is the number to call in case of an emergency. What number do you call for local community services like housing and shelter assistance, senior services, employment assistance, physical and mental wellness? The answer is 2-1-1 Mendocino.
211 is a database, that will give callers access to more than 500 agencies and services. 211 is available 24 hours per day and has taken root in other parts of the state as well. More than 90 percent of the state and 75 percent of the U.S. is covered by 211. Locally, 2-1-1 Mendocino is a partnership between FIRST 5 Mendocino, Mendocino County Health & Human Services Agency and United Way of the Wine Country. PG&E and Bank of America have also offered support to 211.
