Go to India in the spring, and you may happen upon Holi, a wild celebration of life in which people exuberantly throw colored dye at each other. Perhaps a western version of this tradition is Colors for Cancer, a race during which runners are doused with powdered dye, each color representing the fight against a different cancer. Join the fun on September 17 at 9 a.m. at 260 Hospital Drive in Ukiah. Registration is $40 for adults and $25 for ages 17 and under. Sign up at foundation.sthelenahospitals.org/uvmc/c4c2017.
