MCHC Oral Health Education Program Expanded
During the last school year Care for Kids Oral Health Program through the Mendocino Community Health Clinic (MCHC), reached over 1,500 children and  provided -in-class oral education and screenings. The Community Foundation granted funding to expand the program for the 2010-2011 school year. The grant will be used to increase the number of children and families receiving dental education services in the school year ahead.

Dental disease is five times more prevalent in children than asthma. The pain and illnes accompanying oral health problems disrupt children's ability to learn, reduces school attendance and self-esteem.
