Ukiah Valley Soon to be Alive with the Sound of Music.

Calling youth musicians in Lake and Mendocino Counties! Ukiah’s Opus Music School is excited to be starting the Opus Youth Symphony Orchestra. This is a great opportunity for young musicians to play in a group dedicated to bringing great classical music and modern music alive!

Any music student who plays a symphonic instrument, from any school or ability level is welcome. Take this opportunity to play in a symphony with your peers. Currently they are accepting string players, aged 10-21, and will soon expand to include woodwind, brass and percussion players as well.

Spearheading the program are dedicated musicians, Jay Johnson and Darrin Michaels. Johnson, a life-long professional musician has worked on movies such as Star Wars at George Lucas’ Industrial Light and Magic. His goal is to bring the musical experience of “The Force” to the community.

Michaels, a professional musician and music educator plans to use “The Force” to share his passion for music and the arts with the community. The Opus Music School is gearing up for a great semester of fun in a relaxed environment (463-1614). May the forces be with you.
