Art that Moves

Some art captures the eye with color or design, or the use or particular technique. Kinetic art may have all of these qualities, but it mainly gets attention for one particular element: movement. Kids can learn how to make art that moves, such as kinetic sculpture, at the Movement Dynamics art classes July 8–19, 9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m., at the Middletown Art Center in Middletown. In addition to kinetic sculpture, participants will mess around with mobiles and pop-up books and explore dance and other forms of art in motion. The classes are open to ages 5–14; the series is $300 or $35 for one drop-in class. Partial work-trade and sibling discounts are available. Find out more and sign up at middletownartcenter.org
