The Pumpkin Express
Pumpkin patches are a Halloween tradition. And in the case of the Pumpkin Express, it’s not just pumpkins that are the draw, but how one gets to them. The special Skunk Train will take passengers through the redwoods and serve them seasonal treats until they get to a patch. Once there, they can hop off to explore the surrounding woods, and then pick a pumpkin to bring back home with them. The train runs Sundays in October and departs from both Fort Bragg and Willits. Tickets run $10.95–$52.95 (Mendo Lake local discount) For more information or to make a reservation, go to skunktrain.com.
