Library Summer Reading Program Goes Online

Reading. It’s getting a lot of us through quarantine. With its summer online initiative—a digital version of the usual in-person program—the Lake County Library is trying to make books even more appealing, especially to kids. The program operates on a points system: As student amass points for for each page and/or book read, they get digital badges, games, activities, and even prizes. Besides bound-paper books, kids with library cards can access e-books and audio books via Hoopla, Overdrive, and Enki. Registration starts May 16; the last day to get points is August 29. To register, go to http://library.lakecountyca.gov and click on “Summer Reading.”
