Jazz music is all about improvisation, so fans say hearing it live is almost a must. Of course, during the pandemic, opportunities to hear live music have been scarce. But now, the Rural Jazz Collective is emerging, and playing a gig on August 4, 5:30–8:30 p.m., at the Smiling Dogs Ranch and Winery in Kelseyville.
