The Big River Race & Family Adventure wraps up May with an active outdoor event on one of the county’s most scenic rivers. This fundraiser for the Cancer Resource Centers of Mendocino County is designed to be inclusive. Families can sign up to walk a 5K, run a 10K, or paddle a canoe or kayak up the Big River estuary. The “paddle” option is particularly popular for families, as the river is slow-moving and easy for kids to navigate in a tandem canoe. The event finishes with a celebratory lunch and music.
