Plantation Farm Camp is a traditional residential summer camp for boys and girls ages 8-17.
Plantation’s spirit can be seen in the children’s proud faces when they build an ox cart, or serve freshly harvested vegetables. Living on a farm reinforces our belief in the importance of fundamental values and offers us a measure of stability and inner connectedness in our changing world. While today’s children are surrounded by technology, a summer at Plantation allows campers to live outdoors in an environment that truly uses a minimum of technology.
Making the decision to send your child to camp takes a tremendous leap of faith. At Plantation Farm Camp, we take that responsibility very seriously and work to create an atmosphere that is safe, positive, and strengthens each child’s self-image. We believe that learning and understanding take place when people engage in challenging experiences that allow them to make choices, take responsibility, acquire new skills, and learn in a shared community.
Plantation’s entire program is designed to foster a child’s emotional and physical development. Plantation’s non-competitive program allows every camper to choose their activities each day. We limit our enrollment and ensure that we have one of the highest camper to staff ratios to make sure that each child gets personalized attention and gets to try many different activities. Our sessions are also structured to maximize a child’s opportunity to make friends, develop their self-confidence, and participate in a wide variety of activities.
