Parents needing to both relax and fan the fires of their creativity—child-free—can pick up a paintbrush, and a glass of wine, at the Lake County Wine Studio in Upper Lake. There, on July 21, 1:30–4 p.m., instructor Anna Sabalone will teach participants at her Art and Wine workshop how to duplicate a watercolor painting of cacti. The fee for the class is $40 and includes materials and a glass of vino. Call 293-8752 to register.  For other artistic inspiration, there’s the Watercolor on Hemp class on July 13, 1–4 p.m., at the Solar Living Institute in Hopland. Students will focus on painting on hemp, a more sustainable option than paper, learn about color theory and mixing, and participate in a collaborative painting exercise.
