A couple of years after Henry Ford initiated mass production of the Model T, the first seaplane was invented, in France, in 1910. Since those days of plywood floats, the seaplane has definitely evolved. And some of its 21st-century incarnations will be on display at the annual Clear Lake Splash-In in Lakeport. Aerial demonstrations and contests, model planes, simulator plane rides, and industry vendors will all be part of this free event, which will be held on September 7, 9 a.m.–10:30 p.m., at Natural High in Lakeport.
