The Comedy Cure Comes to Ukiah

It is notoriously difficult for school arts programs to obtain funding. But the Ukiah High School arts programs are fighting back—with humor. For one night, the Laughter for the Arts show will turn the school’s cafeteria into a comedy club. And the spotlight will be on Eric Blake, a San Francisco comedian who has appeared on BET!, Showtime, HBO, and Comedy Central. Opening for Blake will be veteran San Francisco improv comedian Gina Stahl-Haven; and recently retired sheriff Tom Allman will serve as emcee. The laughs go down on February 29 at 7 p.m. at the high school in Ukiah. Tickets are $20 and available via eventbrite.com (search on “Laughter for the Arts”).
