Things That Go Vroom

Protein is a nutritional building block our bodies need. But people with phenylketonuria (PKU), like Potter Valley three-year-old Charlotte Kelly, lack enough of a particular enzyme to break down an amino acid called phenylalanine, which is found in protein. This means Kelly and those with PKU have to monitor their protein intake. It also means biweekly blood draws for Kelly. To show its support for Kelly, and to raise funds for the PKU Alliance, the Ukiah Speedway in Ukiah is holding the PKU Alliance Bash. The event will be held on June 12 at 5 p.m. and will feature Bombers, Limited Modifieds, Jalopies, Jammers, and more. Tickets are $9–$30 and will be available at ukiahspeedway.net the weekend prior to the event. Ten percent of ticket sales will go to the PKU Alliance.
