Licensed Midwife, Certified Professional MidwifeI was born and raised in California - the Central Valley, Central Coast, and I've lived in Mendocino County, land of the Pomo tribes, for the last 24 years. I am a mother, partner, sister, educator, herbalist, and Xicana midwife. I wasn't raised knowing about midwifery, and I didn't imagine having my own babies at home until just a few years before I became pregnant with my first baby. Honestly, at first I thought the idea was out of this world!
In my youth, I would often have dreams of healers giving me limpias and baños with herbs before I ever learned anything about it. I became curious about and searched out any information I could find on Curanderas, and eventually in a spiral fashion, through learning about herbs, healing modalities, that search would eventually lead me to Midwifery.
